The
Querencia is the first private golf club in Los Cabos.
Tom Fazio, the course’s designer, calls the property “a
premier spot for a distinctive golf course,” adding
that, “it reminds a person of a desert setting, but
with bold topography and fantastic long-range ocean views.
This environment is truly unique for golf.” The course
is Fazio’s first outside of the United States.
The club opened in 2000, offering golfers a more private
experience with a much more secluded feel than other area
courses. Apart from the main 18-hole course, there is also
a 9-hole short course and a state-of-the-art practice facility
on the grounds. The 26,000 square-foot club house offers
sweeping views of the Gulf of California.
The
Querencia course itself, nestled in the mountains overlooking
the sea, features a distinct experience from the other
courses in Los Cabos, relying more on mountainous terrain
rather than ocean vistas and sea breezes. The scenery here
is still incredible, with some dramatic mountain and canyon
views, with the ocean beckoning in the distance.
